Global Pathway to Fashion Program

Improve your English and begin earning your degree

If you are an international student with a TOEFL score between 65 and 79, or if you simply need to enhance your English language ability, the Global Pathway to Fashion program can be your first step toward earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree from LIM. You will take fashion- and business-focused English courses to help you transition to college life in the U.S. These classes will improve your English language and communication skills and increase your knowledge of American culture. You will also begin earning credits toward your LIM degree.

Important Information

  • You will take a class that counts for credit toward your chosen LIM College degree program. At the same time, you will take fashion-focused, non-credit English language classes, as well as a non-credit elective.
  • Global Pathway to Fashion is offered during the Fall and Spring semesters only.
  • You'll be eligible for student housing. You'll also be able to take advantage of support services for international students.

Depending on the student's level of English language ability*, they may be in the Global Pathway to Fashion program for either one or two semesters. Upon successful completion of the Global Pathway program, the student will begin full-time coursework toward their LIM degree.

  • A student who has a TOEFL score between 65 and 72, or the equivalent score from another approved English language proficiency exam (see LIM International Student English Proficiency Policy), or are enrolled at one of LIM College's partner ESL schools and have completed at minimum the intermediate level, will be admitted into the Global Pathway to Fashion program (and the student's chosen LIM degree program) for two semesters.

  • If a student achieves a TOEFL score of 80, or the equivalent score from another approved English language proficiency exam (see LIM International Student English Proficiency Policy), or are enrolled at one of LIM College's partner ESL schools and have completed an equivalent level, may be admitted directly to the degree program or may still be required to complete the one/two semester Global Pathway to Fashion program at the discretion of the admissions personnel based on their interview.
