Getting Started

  • We accept applications on a rolling basis, up to the beginning of the Fall or Spring semester until all openings are filled. However, we strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible because our class sizes are limited. Once you submit all application materials, we’ll notify you of our decision within 2-4 weeks. (Note for Early Action applicants: You will receive an Admissions decision in late Nov. - early Dec. regardless of when you apply.)
  • You can apply directly to our bachelor’s (four-year) degree programs. (LIM does NOT require you to initially apply for an associate (two-year) degree, and then re-apply to a bachelor’s program.)

You are a “first-year” applicant if you are currently in high school or have never enrolled in a college or university. (If you’re currently enrolled in college credits through a high school or dual-enrollment program, you should still apply as a first-year student.)

We invite incoming first-year students to apply for Early Action admission. Early Action is a non-binding commitment designed for those who demonstrate a very strong interest in LIM College and the fashion industry. Early Action applicants must complete an Early Action Interview, which is an informational interview where you meet with an Admissions Counselor to discuss whether LIM is the best “fit” for you. This session will address your individual needs and specific questions, mirroring the personal attention you will receive as an LIM student.

First-Year Admissions Checklist

To be considered for admission, you must submit the completed online application along with a $40 non-refundable application fee or approved fee waiver. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for regular admissions.

Official transcripts should be submitted from all high schools and/or colleges attended.

During the application process, unofficial transcripts can be sent directly by your High School Guidance Department or your prior college's Office of Registrar. Electronic delivery is preferred and should be sent to admissions@limcollege.edu.

Official transcripts will be needed upon enrollment with LIM College.

The Activity Sheet gives us a deeper understanding of your work and volunteer experiences, extracurricular activities, and awards and achievements. It is not required for admissions consideration, but we strongly encourage you to submit the form with your application.

We may require you to interview on campus. If so, we will contact you to schedule the interview. If you'd like to do an on-campus interview to supplement your application, email us admissions@limcollege.edu or call (212) 310-0639.

Note: Early Action applicants are required to complete an Early Action Interview, which is an informational interview.

LIM College has a test optional policy for admission, which means you can decide whether or not to submit your SAT or ACT scores. If you choose to submit, scores can be used to support your admission application AND/OR they can be used to evaluate academic placement should you decide to enroll at LIM. When you complete your admissions application you may indicate if and how you would like us to use the score(s) by choosing one of the following options:

      • I will submit test scores and want them reviewed with my application materials.
      • I will send or have sent test scores but do not want them reviewed with my application materials.
      • I will not submit scores.
